Effective August 15, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how Ground Up Digital Media handles information in connection with the Custom Deck Estimator website, application, account onboarding, support, and subscription services.

2. Information we collect

Account and company information

We may collect your name, email address, company name, phone number, login and account identifiers, company settings, subscription status, and related onboarding information.

Customer, project, and estimate information

When you use the estimator, you may enter customer names and contact information, project addresses, project notes, deck measurements, selections, material and labor pricing, estimate details, proposal information, and other project data.

Billing information

Subscription checkout is handled by Stripe. We receive billing-related records such as payment status, subscription identifiers, plan, billing interval, dates, and limited payment metadata. We do not need to store your full payment-card number in Custom Deck Estimator.

Technical and service information

We and our service providers may collect information needed to operate and secure the service, such as IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, authentication events, error logs, request logs, and service diagnostics.

Support communications

If you contact us, we may keep the messages and information you provide so we can respond, troubleshoot, and maintain a support history.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and manage accounts and contractor-company access;
  • provide estimates, material takeoffs, proposals, pricing workflows, and other app functions;
  • process subscriptions and maintain billing status;
  • send account, password-reset, proposal, billing, and service communications;
  • provide customer support and troubleshoot problems;
  • protect against fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security threats;
  • maintain, test, improve, and develop the service;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4. How we share information

We may share information with service providers that help us operate the service, including providers for cloud hosting, databases, authentication, email delivery, website hosting, and payment processing. Current service infrastructure may include providers such as Supabase, Google/Firebase, Stripe, and email-delivery providers.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests; to protect our rights, users, or the service; or in connection with a merger, sale, financing, acquisition, or other business transaction.

We do not sell contractor customer/project data to data brokers or advertisers.

5. Data ownership and contractor responsibility

You retain ownership of the business and project data you enter. You are responsible for deciding what third-party personal information you place in the service and for providing any notices or obtaining any permissions required for your own customers, employees, or subcontractors.

6. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain account and business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and support legitimate operational needs. Different categories of information may be retained for different periods.

If you request account closure or deletion, some information may remain in backups, security records, payment records, or other records we must or reasonably need to retain.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain account information. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where required or permitted by law or where necessary for legitimate business purposes.

You may unsubscribe from optional marketing communications using the method provided in the message or by contacting us. Service, security, billing, and account communications may still be sent while your account exists.

9. Cookies and local storage

The website and application may use cookies, browser storage, session storage, or similar technologies when necessary for authentication, security, preferences, routing, and basic service operation. If analytics or advertising technologies are added in the future, this Policy will be updated as appropriate.
